Aaron G. Margulies, M.D. - Breast Surgical Oncologist
Dr. Aaron G. Margulies is a Fellowship trained, board certified breast cancer surgeon and is a former Susan G. Komen Fellow at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Dr. Margulies did research in many areas of breast cancer and was honored as one of only five Distinguished AstraZeneca Scholars at the 28th Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium in December 2005 for his research on the spread of breast cancer to the bones. Dr. Margulies has also made presentations at the Susan G. Komen Mission Conference, the Southwestern Surgical Congress, the Association for Academic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress.
Dr. Margulies completed a five year residency in general surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, earned his MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
After completing his residency, Dr. Margulies spent five years in suburban San Francisco in the solo practice of general surgery. Dr. Margulies became a leader, helping bring stereotactic and ultrasound guided core needle breast biopsy to his town of Tracy. He also was the first surgeon in his town to do Sentinel Node Biopsy for breast cancer. Dr. Margulies was a member of the Sutter Health Breast Cancer Project and helped to establish both the Cancer Support Services of Tracy and the Tracy Relay-for-Life of the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Margulies currently lives in Farragut with his wife, Imelda and their four beautiful children, Rachel, Benjamin, Reuben and Grace.
